Herniated Umbilical

This is caused by a weakness in the abdominal wall and failure of the umbilical ring to close properly and presents itself as a lump over the umbilical opening. It can sometimes (but not always) be caused by an oversized fetus.

Recommended treatment:
None, unless it should change in appearance or show any signs of other abnormalities.  It can be surgically corrected, but this is usually not necessary.
